EarthEcho International is a nonprofit organization founded by siblings Philippe and Alexandra Cousteau in honor of their father Philippe Cousteau Sr., famous son of the legendary explorer Jacques Yves Cousteau. EarthEcho International’s mission is to empower youth to take action that protects and restores our water planet. The Water Planet Challenge is their initiative to educate and engage youth as activists and proponents of our ecosystems and our world, and to provide collective evidence of the power of change.
Cathryn Berger Kaye, President of CBK Associates, has partnered with Philippe Cousteau and EarthEcho International to author two books, Going Blue: A Teen Guide to Saving Our Oceans Lakes, Rivers, & Wetlands, and Make a Splash! A Kids Guide to Saving Our Oceans Lakes, Rivers, & Wetlands. She has also worked with EarthEcho to author Water Planet Challenge Action Guides and develop Citizen Journalist Institutes to engage youth in covering environmental news in their communities.
